Please contact the surgery to book your flu vaccination.

Clifton Road Surgery will be holding flu vaccination clinics on Saturday mornings starting from Saturday 28th September. We will also be holding drop in clinics at the surgery every day from 9am - 12pm and 2pm - 4pm. Please come into the surgery and ask at reception.

Clifton Road Surgery will be closed from 12.30pm on Wednesday 11th December for protected learning time.

Clifton Road Surgery would like to announce the arrival of our new Salaried GP, Dr Gower.  Dr Gower started as our salaried GP in August 2019 and holds clinics all day Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.  With this in mind we wanted to remind you that every patient has a named GP.  Now Dr Gower is in place it has been necessary to allocate him as named GP to some of our patients.  Please note, anyone concerned or wanting clarification of their named GP can speak to Reception.  Please be assured those patients we will be changing will not be having regular on-going appointments/care.  If any patient has objections we will, of course, put you back to your previous GP.  We have consulted with our PPG who support the Practice in undertaking this.

NHS Health Worker Awards - A big congratulations to our Primary Care Practitioner/Nurse Team Manager ..... Helen Merrigan!  Helen received a Lifetime Service Award for all her hard work and dedication to the National Health Service.  I'm sure you will join us in saying this is a well deserved award to an exceptional person, who goes above and beyond!  Well done Helen.

Electronic Prescription Service – coming soon

Clifton Road Surgery will be offering EPS from Thursday 4th June 2015. if you nominate a pharmacy, your GP will send all future prescriptions electronically to your preferred pharmacy.

If you would like to take advantage of this service please obtain and complete a nomination form, available from your pharmacy and hand the completed form to your pharmacy.

This will not affect the way that you order / request prescriptions.

Benefits for you

  •         If you get a repeat prescription, you will not have to spend your time going to your GP practice each time to pick up your paper prescription. Instead your GP will send it automatically to the place you choose, with less chance of it getting lost.
  •         Nearly all pharmacies will be connected to the service, so you will be able to get your medicines from any pharmacy you choose – whether it’s near home, work or the shops.
  •         You may not have to wait as long for your prescription items, as often there will be time to get your repeat prescription items ready before you arrive. If any of the medicines on your prescription are out of stock when the pharmacist receives your prescription, they can be ordered in ready for you.

What happens if I do not wish to use the service?

Nothing- you will continue to get paper prescriptions as you do now.
